Between our founding group of five, we possessed an ideal mix of retail, business, and technical experience. But most importantly, we were passionately interested in the shift in power taking place on the web. We looked around and realized that the average user was creating the most valuable content on the web, and were intrigued with the notion of building software tools that could harness the wisdom of crowds and leverage the results to drive business.

At about the same time, a music sharing site asked one of our founders to build a music-based community. As we developed reviews, recommendations, and blogs, we realized the three integrated products could drive revenue in other verticals as well.
